For more than two decades, Tshililo Cynthia Mkhombo has led Masana Hygiene Services with a clear vision: to build a business that delivers exceptional service while creating meaningful opportunities for people. Since founding the company in 2004, she has transformed Masana into one of South Africa’s leading providers of integrated cleaning, hygiene, and facilities support services, earning the trust of clients across both the public and private sectors.

A qualified Environmental Health Practitioner with additional executive training from the University of Stellenbosch and the University of Pretoria, Cynthia combines technical expertise with strategic leadership. Her early career in environmental health, occupational health and safety, procurement, and supplier development provided the strong foundation that continues to shape Masana’s commitment to quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

Cynthia is passionate about developing people and raising professional standards within South Africa’s cleaning and hygiene industry. Under her leadership, Masana has created more than 2,000 employment opportunities, invested in skills development, and built a culture centred on integrity, innovation, and customer excellence.

Today, she continues to guide the company’s strategic direction with a focus on sustainable growth, long-term partnerships, and delivering healthier, safer environments for every client. Her leadership reflects Masana’s core belief that exceptional service begins with empowered people, strong values, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

For more than 30 years, Mr Richard Mkhombo has built a career around helping businesses grow through sound financial leadership, strategic thinking, and responsible governance. As the Chief Financial Officer of Masana Hygiene Services since 2004, he has played an integral role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, strengthening corporate governance, and supporting its sustainable growth.

Mr Mkhombo holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Potchefstroom University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Venda. His extensive career includes senior leadership positions at Afrox Retail Centre, GM Finance, and Masana Consulting, where he gained valuable experience in finance, project management, business strategy, and operational leadership.

Throughout his career, Mr Mkhombo has successfully led large-scale business initiatives, including the rollout of retail developments, SAP implementation projects, and the development of financial, inventory, and governance frameworks that have improved operational performance and business efficiency. He is also a member of the Institute of Johannesburg and has completed specialised training in Demand Site Management, Project Management, Operations, Auditing and Accounting, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development.
